Welcome Week at The New Rochelle Y - A Celebration of the Cultures that Make Up Our Community
The New Rochelle YMCA will be joining Welcoming America and YMCAs across the country to celebrate “Welcoming Week”, September 13-22. Each year, “Welcoming Week” elevates the growing movement of communities that fully embrace new Americans and their contributions to the social fabric of our country.
This week-long celebration is an opportunity for neighbors – both immigrants and US-born residents – to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community. In New Rochelle, The New Rochelle YMCA is excited to announce, “Open House Week!”
During this time, guests can pick a day to visit the New Rochelle Y for free to experience all our facilities has to offer such as our pool, cardio and weightlifting, pickleball, racquetball and basketball courts. “It’s the perfect chance to explore everything we offer and see if our Y is the right fit for you, says Dafne Ginn, Membership, Operations, and Community Outreach Manager.
“At the New Rochelle YMCA, we believe that belonging begins with us and that New Rochelle is stronger when everyone feels welcome and collaborates for the common good,” said Jennifer Ryan Safsel CEO. “We are proud to participate in Welcoming Week, showcasing how people from all backgrounds come together to build a stronger connections. This is a time to celebrate the shared values that unite us as neighbors, parents and colleagues— making our community more welcoming to all.”
