Pelham Road Assault
On July 20th, 2024, at about 11:40am, New Rochelle Police responded to the building complex at 463 Pelham Rd on a report of a male party screaming for help. Upon arrival, Officers encountered the victim, a 71-year-old male New Rochelle resident, who stated his roommate Kathleen Ganley had assaulted him including stabbing him multiple times. An investigation revealed that a physical dispute occurred between the two and it is alleged Kathleen broke a vase over the victim’s head, stabbed him multiple times and prevented him from calling the police. Ganley also sustained injuries from the altercation and both were treated at a local hospital. Kathleen Ganley was subsequently arrested and charged as the aggressor in this incident.
ARRESTED: Kathleen Ganley, 58 years of age, of New Rochelle.

Fatal Accident at Golden Horseshoe
On July 13th, 2024, at about 12:02am, New Rochelle Police responded to the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center at 1062 Wilmot Road on a report of a motor vehicle accident.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 2019 Honda Accord completely on fire. New Rochelle Firefighters responded and extinguished the flames. The sole occupant in the vehicle was found in the drivers’ seat deceased. New Rochelle Police Accident Investigators responded to the scene for further investigation.

The family of the deceased was notified. The deceased is now confirmed to be 16-year-old Aidan Galeano of New Rochelle. 

The vehicle he was driving was traveling eastbound on Wilmot Road at a high rate of speed and veered left of center at 1050 Wilmot Road and into the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center where it collided with a metal light post and concrete footing.

Galeano only possessed a Learner’s Permit according to DMV records.

The New Rochelle Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Multiple Stabbings
On Sunday July 21st at about 4:18am, New Rochelle Police responded to a large disorderly group on the 200 block of North Avenue. While police officers were clearing the group, they located three adult males each who had sustained stab wounds; one male was stabbed in his leg, another who was stabbed in his back, and another who sustained stab wounds to his back and abdomen. The suspect had already fled the scene.

The victims were transported to local hospitals where two underwent surgery for their injuries and are now listed in critical but stable condition. The third victim who sustained a stab wound to the leg was discharged from the hospital. New Rochelle Detectives responded and are actively investigating this incident.

Robbery Arrest
On July 17th, 2024, at about 1:00pm, New Rochelle Police arrested one Tyrone McGhee, 51 years of age, of New Rochelle for Robbery and Trespassing that occurred on July 3rd, 2024. On July 3rd, 2024, Mr. McGhee is accused of unlawfully being on the property of 111 Lockwood Avenue where he is also accused of robbing a victim by threatening the use of a machete.

McGhee was observed on July 17th, 2024 walking on Lockwood Avenue. When he was approached by police, he ran behind 41 Lockwood Avenue and then over a fence and into a building located at 400 North Avenue in an attempt to evade capture. He was seen climbing out of a rear window onto a fire escape but was eventually taken into custody without further incident and held for arraignment.
ARRESTED: Tyrone McGhee, 51 years of age, of New Rochelle.
