North End Fitness & Training Celebrates New Ownership with Ribbon Cutting

North End Fitness & Training is under new ownership and the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce was on hand to host a ribbon cutting to celebrate. New owner Phillip Censoprano’s family and staff were joined in celebration by Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert, New Rochelle Parks Commissioner Vin Parise – who acted as MC for the event, Fire Chief Andy Sandor, Mariana Jusufaj, New Rochelle Small Business Manager, and Judah Holstein, Westchester County Legislator. Attending New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce members were President Rob Hayes, Executive Board Members Andrew Feigenbaum, Carol Barrella, and Ibanessa Hogan.

The ribbon cutting and grand opening is a pandemic comeback story for Philip Censoprano. Prior to the pandemic, Phil had just purchased a house in New Rochelle to start his young family and opened a business – CrossFit POP (Pursuit of Perfection) – on North Avenue. The pandemic shut his business for over 18 months, forcing him to give up his brick-and-mortar business location. Phil then led outdoor fitness workouts at Huguenot Park. As pandemic regulations eased, Phil taught personal training and equipment classes in his home garage and driveway. In 2023, Phil rented studio space at North End Fitness and for the first time in three years was able to teach fully indoors classes. Now, in 2024, he is the new owner of North End Fitness located at 1293 North Avenue.

Throughout the difficult pandemic period Phil remained a devoted New Rochelle resident & supporter. He appeared on our WVOX Chamber Show to explain covid regulations for gyms and physical training. Phil was a participant in the 2022 and 2023 Street Fairs – providing interactive children’s activities during the event. Phil also sponsored the free Dreidel giveaways at the 2023 Holiday Lighting. The NR Chamber is thrilled to see Phil has overcome such obstacles and is once again a thriving business owner with a new location on North Avenue.

Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert said, “It’s heartwarming to have witnessed Phil Censoprano’s business acumen and creativity to make it through the trials and tribulations of being a small business owner during the pandemic. I’m thrilled for Phil and his family and happy to be here celebrating this new business venture with them today.”

Andrew Feigenbaum presented a Certificate of Recognition from the NR Chamber stating, “Congratulations for coming back to New Rochelle as a business owner. We’re glad to have you back in our community and wish you the best of luck.”

Describing the new business, Phil Censoprano stated, “North End Fitness is a premier training facility located in New Rochelle. At North End, we focus on facilitating fun, engaging workout for the whole family! We have age-appropriate classes and personal training options available for everyone from 3-103.”

Phil Censoprano’s new ownership also brings new services to North End Fitness & Training including Personal Training, CrossFit training, Women’s Strength Classes, Kid & Teen Classes, Family Workouts, and Nutrition Coaching.
