NRPD Executes Search Warrant at Union Avenue Sports Bar; Gambling Devices Seized, Owner Arrested
On Friday, August 21, 2026, at approximately 8:30 PM, members of the New Rochelle Police Department Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at 142 Union Avenue, commonly known as the Union Avenue Sports Bar.
During the search, investigators located a private room in the rear of the establishment containing illicit gambling activity. Four (4) video-style slot machines were seized.
The business will be referred to the New York State Liquor Authority for multiple violations and license review.
ARRESTED:
Gisselle Lopez, 35 years of age, of New Rochelle
CHARGES:
(4) Counts of PL 225.30 – Possession of a Gambling Device, A Misdemeanor
(1) Count of PL 225.05 – Promoting Gambling in the Second Degree, A Misdemeanor
Ms. Lopez was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket returnable on September 1, 2026, and released pending further court action.
