Larchmont Celebrates as Brooklyn Lands Among Us
Noted fashion designer Andrea Moore celebrated her new boutique, The Makers NY, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 13 with Larchmont Mayor Sarah Bauer and Trustees Peter Fanelli and Terence Pare. They were flanked by The Makers NY’s models, who were being outfitted for the ensuing kickoff fashion show that followed. Moore, a New Rochelle resident, personally creates and sews each of her streetwear styles on location in her sewing-machine-filled store and has been profiled in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.
After the ribbon cutting, the models and designer took to the runway for a debut of the summer line, “Moore Sunshine,” held at Locals10538, a new cafe and event space on the Boston Post Road in Larchmont. After the show, they took to the streets walking the fashions across the Boston Post Road for all to enjoy with Moore and her three children leading the pack.
The Makers NY, located at 132 Larchmont Avenue, will certainly make Larchmont a fashion-forward destination under Andrea’s creative dynamism.
