Community Food Drives Benefit Hope Food Pantry in New Rochelle

The Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc. Community Food Drive had great success collecting two car trunk loads of items. The drive was held on Saturday, November 16, and Philanthropy Committee members, Gerry Gerace, Zsuzanna Baan-Jonas, Therese Boyd and Carolyn Gallaher collected more than 189 food items, 41 diapers and $140 in cash or checks. At the monthly membership meeting held the day before, Gerry and Carolyn collected over 100 items, 90 diapers and $40 in cash for the Pantry.

Please mark your calendar for the next Community Food Drive on Saturday, February 8. You will find members outside the Larchmont Avenue Church on Forest Park Ave. from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Donations of cereals, meals in a can (Spaghetti-O type), and diapers are especially needed, but all food items are desired including soups, crackers, small bags of rice, canned fruits, canned vegetables, and canned tuna. Monetary donations are gratefully received since this assists the Pantry in purchasing needed items not donated. Checks should be made payable to: The Woman’s Club of Larchmont, Inc.

The Club is indebted to the community for its past support. In 2025 the Club will be celebrating their centennial and 100 years of Fellowship, Philanthropy and Service. Information as to the celebration on May 1 at 6:00 p.m. at the Orienta Beach Club will be forthcoming.
