Application Deadline Extended for
New Rochelle Youth Court
The Youth Court Program administered by the New Rochelle Youth Bureau is entering its 36th year of operation. It has trained over three hundred (300) students in all aspects of the Criminal Justice System and Court Procedures, enabling them to serve as Judges, Prosecutors, and Defense Attorneys handling cases which are diverted from the Westchester County Family Court.
Youth Court is a collaborative effort which includes the New Rochelle Youth Bureau, New Rochelle Bar Association, New Rochelle Police Department, Pelham Police Department, and the Westchester County Department of Probation. Its purpose is to give needed supervision to first-time offenders 7 to 17 years of age who have committed offenses such as shoplifting, loitering, harassment, vandalism, trespass, disturbing the peace, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of fireworks.
Applications are now being accepted for the Youth Court Program.
