Fire – 565 North Avenue – Victim Information
On March 31st, 2022 at about 6:03am, New Rochelle Police received a call reporting a fire at 565 North Avenue, an older building that stretches from the corner of Hamilton Avenue to Fifth Avenue. The New Rochelle Fire Department was contacted and responded where they found a large active fire that was engulfing the building. As the Fire Department worked on extinguishing the fire, Fire Fighters found the superintendent of the building deceased in her apartment from apparent smoke inhalation. The Medical Examiner was contacted and transported the victim to their office at Westchester Medical Center where family members were able to make a positive identification of the deceased. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
DECEASED:
Judith Musameci, 60 years of age, of New Rochelle, NY.
The City of New Rochelle and the Police and Fire Departments extend their condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Musameci.

Stabbing Incident – Arrest Made
On April 27th, 2022 at about 11:00pm, New Rochelle Police responded to the parking lot of 600 Davenport Avenue, the V.I.P. County Club, on a report of a stabbing. New Rochelle Police located two victims, one with a laceration to his back and the other who was stabbed in the abdomen. They were both transported to a local hospital for treatment. The stabbing victim was taken into surgery and is currently listed as being in critical condition. The victim who was slashed on the back was treated and released. New Rochelle Police located and arrested the suspect at the dead end of Davenport Avenue without further incident.
The suspect and the victims were all working as valets at the V.I.P Club and this incident stemmed from a dispute between the two victims and the suspect. The names of the victims are being withheld at this time.

Elijah Santiago, 25 years of age, of New York, NY.
CHARGES:
Penal Law 120.10 – Assault in the First Degree (2 Counts) – B Felony
Penal Law 265.01 – Criminal Possession of a Weapon Fourth Degree – A Misdemeanor
