Gun and Menacing Arrest
On June 5th, at about 5:33pm, New Rochelle Detectives located a vehicle at D’Onofrio Field that was suspected of being used in a Menacing with a handgun on June 4th. As Detectives approached the vehicle to interview the driver they observed a set of brass knuckles in plain view in the vehicle. Additionally, the license plate on the vehicle was found to be registered to another vehicle and improperly displayed on this vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle was conducted where a 9mm Glock handgun with 17 rounds in an extended magazine was found. The passenger was then also placed under arrest without incident. Detectives then were able to confirm the driver’s involvement in the June 4th Menacing case and filed additional charges for that incident.

Jadon Zakai Cappas (driver), 20 years of age, of the Bronx Daniella Ronas, 21 years of age, of New Rochelle

265.02 Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree Ammunition Feeding Device – D Felony Mr. Cappas had the following additional NYS Penal Law charges:

120.14 Menacing 2nd degree – A Misdemeanor
265.03 (2nd Count) Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree – C Felony
Burglary Arrest
On June 19th, at about 1:10am, New Rochelle Police responded to Richie Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning located at 91 Plain Avenue on a report of a burglary. The property owner observed through a Ring Camera a suspect attempting to steal copper from the property. New Rochelle Police Officers arrived on scene and found an open door to the basement and further detected movement within the building. Moments later, Officers were able to get the suspect to come forward toward the door and surrender without further incident. The suspect was a former employee of the business and later admitted to Detectives that he had committed other unreported burglaries at the same location.

James M. Hoch, 43 years of age, of New Rochelle.

Drug Arrest
On June 14th, 2024, at about 12:43pm, New Rochelle Detectives arrested one Jamel Glenn, 59 years of age, of New Rochelle, for Trespass at 111 Lockwood Avenue, a New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority Property. Upon a search after his arrest, Mr. Glenn was found to be in possession of approximately 30 grams of crack cocaine, heroin, powder cocaine and brass knuckles. He was placed under arrest without incident and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.
